1. What is "dark mode"?
The so-called "dark mode" is a color scheme that uses light-colored text, icons, and graphical user interface elements on a dark background and is often discussed in terms of computer user interface design and web design.
Many modern websites and operating systems offer the user an optional light-on-dark display mode.
2. Setting in MS Edge
In Microsoft's Edge browser, the dark mode can be activated with the keyboard shortcut "ALT + F" or by clicking the "three dots-icon" and selecting "Settings".
Select "Appearance" and set the "Overall appearance" to "Dark":

3. Plugin for MS Edge
Since not all websites support this mode, here is a plugin available for the Edge browser: Dark Mode – Microsoft Edge Addons
When following this link, you'll notice a blue "Install" button in the right upper area.
The installation has to be confirmed, which can be done since this is not as critical as the next step:
After having confirmed the installation, a consent for data usage will appear next: DO NOT CONSENT since this is not needed to use the plugin.
As soon as the plugin is has been added to the browser, it can be turned on/off by this button:
